Services For Education’s World Music & Percussion team is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Djembe Teacher to join our expanding department. This is a great opportunity to inspire children and young people across Birmingham through vibrant, energetic and culturally rich percussion teaching.

You’ll deliver engaging Djembe lessons across a range of school settings, including whole‑class sessions, small groups and 1:1 lessons. You’ll help pupils develop rhythm, coordination, teamwork and confidence, while making music fun, inclusive and accessible. Every day brings something different, and you’ll have the freedom to bring your own musical style, ideas and creativity into your teaching.


Experience and Skills

We welcome applicants with experience in:

  • Small group and 1:1 teaching
  • Whole‑class instrumental teaching
  • Ensemble direction
  • Working with children with additional needs

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and experienced Djembe player
  • Passionate about engaging young people in music
  • A positive communicator who builds strong relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage their own schedule
  • Willing to travel between school sites in Birmingham
